Driving through the town we were skepticle about what to find at the Kleopatra Hotel. Even the sign for the hotel is older and could use a facelift.
Inside everything was new renovations, clean and the friendliest multi lingual person at the desk. Demitri did a great job getting us settled and recommended the local taverna for dinner which was delicious. They had the best Greek Salad that we had during our 10 days.

Charming central Kalamata hotel in a modernized and comfortable late 19th Century mansion. The hosts, George and Effi, are charming and helpful with dinner reservations, and local information. We will be back. Note- there isn't an elevator here but George is ever helpful with hauling the luggage up the stairs.

this small town ( if road noise bothers you). Nice lobby with restaurants literally behind it and market across street. Inexpensive stay for nights sleep on the road exploring. Host didn’t even ask for my Id just Gave me the key! Later he was not at the desk but found him sitting at the restaurant out back and was my host there too. Large bathroom was nice.
