We had a fantastic stay. It was low season and the owners treated us like family. The food was great, the room was nice though so be aware the open concept means the shower and toilet are basically in the same room.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Pinta! And I couldn’t recommend it enough. Ana greeted us both with a hug when checking us in which was a nice welcome! The rooms are clean, nicely appointed, and it felt like a lovely respite after a day of exploring. My family (2 adults, 1 child) really enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and rich culture and history of this part of the Douro Valley. Maria was a wonderful host, and she was especially helpful in finding a particular, fairly new viewpoint in the Douro Valley and just in providing helpful information for things to do and things to eat.
We really want to come back when we choose to visit Portugal again in the future.
We stayed at the Quinta S. Bernardo in late September and we can’t say enough about this property! The property is just beautiful with a stunning view of the Douro River and surrounded by the vineyards. The Quinta is family owned and lovingly and beautifully designed and decorated. All our meals were straight from the farm, from the breakfast to the lunches to the exquisite dinners made by the chef, everything was incredibly fresh.

Meticulously clean property, quiet, relaxing, and professionally managed hotel. I have nothing but superlatives to say about our experience in Favaios. The town itself is worth the trip and the people are among the most friendly I have encountered in Portugal. Even the dogs are mellow. We will return.
Lovely picturesque property. Guest rooms are rectangular structures mostly glasses terraced on the hills with a beautiful view of wine country. Pro-tip meals can be ordered takeout through hotel management.
Beware of ants don’t leave food out.
We had a very nice stay here. The property is small, so it is quiet (I believe only a total of 4 rooms). The views from the property are immaculate. There are such pretty views of the duoro river. In the morning, a homemade breakfast of eggs, meats, and fresh fruits is available.
I will say that it is not possible to walk from the property to any restaurants or wineries, but taxis seems to be readily available.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay
Great place to relax and experience the wine country. The dinner, port tour and port tasting was a special treat and the morning breakfast excellent. It was great walking the grape fields or just sitting under the fig trees outside the 16th century manor.
