What a wonderful spot! The rooms were spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food (breakfast, snacks and dinner were delicious! I highly recommend this beautiful place!
My family (2 adults, 1 child) really enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and rich culture and history of this part of the Douro Valley. Maria was a wonderful host, and she was especially helpful in finding a particular, fairly new viewpoint in the Douro Valley and just in providing helpful information for things to do and things to eat.
We really want to come back when we choose to visit Portugal again in the future.
Our stay at Quinta Da Marka was exceptional. This centuries-old vineyard overlooks the Douro River, with sweeping views in every direction. The accommodations are a newer addition and include seven comfortable, well-appointed rooms. Guests can also enjoy the pool, scenic river-view terraces, and walking paths through the vineyard. The family lives on site, and our host, Angela, was warm and welcoming. Her sister and mother staff the kitchen and visit guests during dinner to make sure everyone is...
From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful home. The home is cozy, clean and welcoming. I felt comfortable walking through the home and enjoying the shared areas. The staff member was very welcoming and the check in was quick and painless. Our room was spacious, comfortable, well-appointed, had a great view of the mountain.
We enjoyed the fresh continental breakfast that was provided.
We truly had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the hotel to others. I look...
We absolutely loved our stay at the Pinta! And I couldn’t recommend it enough. Ana greeted us both with a hug when checking us in which was a nice welcome! The rooms are clean, nicely appointed, and it felt like a lovely respite after a day of exploring. Definitely a stay more for couples since the nicely sized bathroom is separated by a generous drapery, but it didn’t bother my husband and I, we liked the whimsicalness of the design. Breakfast is delicious and served in the lounge with a...
We absolutely adored our stay at Gricha! We spent 2 nights and could have stayed weeks! The hotel was wonderful at accommodating our late arrival and early departure. We loved breakfast, the picnic lunch, the pool, the tour, the tasting, and our catered dinner. I enjoyed that they offered an honesty bar for wine. We would highly recommend!
Meticulously clean property, quiet, relaxing, and professionally managed hotel. I have nothing but superlatives to say about our experience in Favaios. The town itself is worth the trip and the people are among the most friendly I have encountered in Portugal. Even the dogs are mellow. We will return.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this location. Originally we were only going to stay one night but then ended up staying an additional two nights. The property was beautiful and conveniently located. The whole staff treated us like family specially Agnes. She was amazing. She was so helpful and even booked our dinner reservations one night. She’s the reason that we had no hesitation booking additional nights
Lovely picturesque property. Guest rooms are rectangular structures mostly glasses terraced on the hills with a beautiful view of wine country. Pro-tip meals can be ordered takeout through hotel management.
Beware of ants don’t leave food out.
Great place to relax and experience the wine country. The dinner, port tour and port tasting was a special treat and the morning breakfast excellent. It was great walking the grape fields or just sitting under the fig trees outside the 16th century manor.
