The first thing I have to mention is the excellent staff. Every one of them was polite, attentive and helpful and communicated well in spite of the language barrier. I didn’t speak a word of French but they did their best to communicate in English and they did a great job. Garden and City has lots of common spaces to hang around after a hard day of hiking. We came in by train and had to lug our bags from the station. Lourdes is quite hilly, so having a hotel so close to the station was a great benefit. We were less than a block away from the station and although we were so close the noise of the trains was not a problem at all. The historical area of Lourdes is very walkable and we were only about 15 minute walk from the Basilica. The room was clean and comfortable. Lovely house on the side of the hill. Just three rooms. We were very well fed and very well taken care of by the owner and her family. I loved being able to sit out and look at the mountains and hear the river down below. Very hard to find though. Make an effort to be sure you have clear specific directions to the house before you arrive.

This place is great! The owner is VERY helpful and upon arrival will take a few minutes to show you where to go and what to do to make the most of your time in Lourdes. The hotel is located close to everything but in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean however the toilet seat needs replacement. Our room has a small but nice balcony. Breakfast is adequate. Great rate and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Located in the heart of town, overlooking the river. Quiet and wonderfully appointed for the price. Although it didn't have any negative effect on me, the hotel attracts groups and the restaurant was quite full at meal times. I stayed at the Hotel Majestic in late Sept 2015. My review is delayed because I mistakenly thought that I had completed it (when, in fact, I hadn't). The hotel is centrally located, and it is ~5 min walking distance from the Shrine. Upon check-in, my family realized that we were going to be on the top-most floor. L'Ardiden was an unexpected delight. It's perched above a river with great mountain views from the rooms and a small balcony. The room was plain, but clean and modern and the bathroom was quite clean and spacious. The location is near the thermal baths, a bit removed from Luz St. Sauveur; however, I preferred being away from the traffic in Luz. It's about a 10 minute walk into Luz. This is a great place to experience Luz, Gavarnie and other regional attractions.
