After reading reviews of Aguas Calientes in general, I was leery of the accommodations available. This was so inaccurate! The town is much better than what I read, and this hotel was the best one yet! (Better than Cuzco, Lima, and Ollantaytambo) The bed was bigger than my king at home. That alone made me smile when I walked in. I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for three nights and loved it. It actually felt like a vacation.
The Location was everything! We walked from the train station and next morning walked to the bus station for Machu Picchu. Waking up to the sound and view of the river was simply magical☺️
I highly recommend this hotel. I would stay here again. We were here for Machu Picchu. Excellent stay. Had a room on the 4th floor over the river. The river is kind of loud, but great windows so it seemed more like a "white noise" in the background which was quite nice actually. Despite its proximity to the station, we could not hear any train at all from our side. There is a train that passes literally 5 feet in front of the hotel so get the river side if possible. All the staff were...
Comfortable room, decent shower.
They accommodated our breakfast time so we could get in line for the bus in time for our 8 a.m. entry to Machu Pichu.
They also had massage on site, but we did not have time for that, sadly.
Tip: if you are not traveling light, they will transfer your luggage to/from the station for 35 soles. Totally worth it, because you have to walk up the hill to get there!
My husband and I had a great stay here the night before we visited Machu Picchu. The staff (especially the concierge, Soledad) were all friendly and helpful. Our bed was large and comfy, and we looked out over the stream, which provided nice white noise. The breakfast was really good - fruit salad with a yogurt sauce and cereal, fresh eggs cooked to order, local bread, ham & cheese slices and coffee/tea.
The hotel also let us store our bags after check out during our trip to MP. They also...
The hostal was only a 3 minute walk from
The train station and 2 min to the bus station to line up to head to Machu Picchu. The host was wonderful! He told us what time we should be at the bus stop and even prepare a bag breakfast the night before so we can take with us in the morning. We had a room with two single beds and they were quite comfortable. The showers had hot water and pressure was decent. The WiFi is a bit spotty but that’s mostly everywhere. There is a restaurant nearby with a...
The staff was very friendly, the rooms very clean.
Very close to train station. Our room was at the 5th floor, there is an elevator, so no problem there.
We were a group of 11 people in 3 different rooms.
Hotel Tierra In is in the best location in Machu Picchu pueblo. It is close to everything but also very quiet so you can take a good rest at night. The rooms are modern with and inviting smell and the beds are very comfortable. You cannot hear any noise from other rooms which is very important to me. The breakfast was awesome and you can choose the time so they have everything fresh and made at the momment. They had scramble eggs, orange juice natural and fresh, fruits, different type of breads,...
This is a case where they had a maintenence problem and they fixed the issue by placing us in a different neighboring hotel. (Hotel Retama) The new place was a clean, cool
and friendly staff and the same astheteic place. They made the change and there were no other problems. Except the only problem: our TV died during the World Cup tournament.... Arrrggggghhhh...
All good we had to watch it on our pads. Like I said: bad to good and they fixed it. Thumbs up! Would definitely stay in the...
Joan picked us up from the training station and showed us to our room.
The room was huge, 3 king beds the shower and jacuzzi facility was good, cant beat the price for the size. Not all of the functions of the shower worked like the side shower but the main one worked. The jacuzzi also worked well.
We did not experience the bugs and insect like the other patrons in the reviews, although the room did not have air conditioning during the evening with the windows open it was good, we only spent...
