I would say this is a hidden gem. An elegant hotel in the heart of Caldas de Reis, so very convenient if you are making the Camino. It is way above others in this route. Nicely appointed rooms. Hotel Resturante Ruas is a lovely hotel with superior guest service. Our room was spotless and easily accessible. The hotel's location cannot be beat for centrality and usefulness for the Camino. Its restaurant and cafeteria ensure you have easy access to good meals. And the location puts you next to all kinds of restaurants, shops, and churches. The accommodations are simple, but they are clean and there is air conditioning. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Candor. They are pet-friendly and the staff was always present and helpful (whether at the front desk or in the dining area). The village and hillside view from the room was beautiful and peaceful. There were some neighborhood dogs that barked regularly, especially at night and early morning, that prevented us from keeping the doors open as much as we would have liked.
