Fabulously well appointed and comfortable property a short drive from Kilkenny, but far enough to avoid the crush of tourists. Wonderfully helpful staff, great dining choices. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise during our trip to Ireland. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, making it a great base for visiting family and exploring the surrounding area.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and inviting. It was a nice place to return to after a busy day of traveling and sightseeing.

Great hotel with great staff. Stayed at 5 hotels while in Ireland and this was the best. Not much to look at from the outside but very nice on the inside. Meals were very good and all staff were friendly and helpful. Loved this place!
The Lodges are perfect for a family. We were a party of 5 and we got a 3-bedroom lodge facing the golf course. Fully-appointed kitchen, washing machine, and common room with large dining table. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Hotel staff were fabulous as was the food at the clubhouse restaurant. The views of the castle whilst we ate were stunning.
Free parking. Amazing location in town. Friendly staff. The room was large. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was really good. Breakfast was included and excellent. Only bad thing was the view out our window.
There was no food service at the pub. The beer was good, pub had friendly atmosphere.
On site parking was a bit misleading. There was a public car park down the street, seemed safe, but you had to pay

only thing I would have like to see was improvement on eco friendly front, replacing the tiny toiletries with bigger bottles that are refilled in the showers and the same with all of the little plastic water bottles.
The hotel overall was great. The pub and restaurant were great when we didn't want to run back into town. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions. It was a lovely choice for an out-of-the-way stay. The bus stop is a short walk from the hotel, and the fare is 2 euros. An Uber into downtown cost us about 13 Euros. We had a lovely stay @ Launard house! Sharon & Adam provided exceptional service & hospitality. This was the 11th lodging stop for us (Scotland & Ireland) and the first to have a top sheet & washcloths, which we appreciated as Americans. Sometimes it’s the little things!😃 We walked into town for dinner with dozens of great dining choices. Breakfast was delicious and we wish we could have stayed longer.
Wonderful location! We loved the character of the hotel. Beautiful bathroom fixtures with thick towels and warming towel rack. The bed was very comfortable. We were impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Did not realize this hotel was so large and contained so many event space when booking. However, our room felt boutique and elevated. Very large and glamorous space. Only stayed one night. We love Kilkenny.
