We stayed one night prior to leaving Costa Rica. The hotel’s shuttle picked us up at the Sansa terminal and brought us directly to the property. The property has a terrific view of San Jose and the room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We loved everything about this hotel and we are so happy we chose to stay here. The hotel was very clean; we would come in and our room would smell and look amazing. The food options at the restaurant were excellent (we tried all the local dishes and local juices/milkshakes). We felt that the location was perfect- we liked the fact that the airport shuttle was easily accessible; we felt safe walking around the area; and the best part was having a Walmart so close (walking distance) for snacks...
From the moment we stepped from our transfer, we were treated royally - the staff is trained well, very friendly, and efficient! The courtyard, used for meals, was lovely - heaters provided for cooler weather. The menus for both breakfast and dinner offered a variety of local as well as international options. Our standard room was small, but very comfortable.
The best feature, for those who love to walk, is the location - a twenty minute stroll from central downtown, near wonderful museums...
The rooms are big and beautiful. The enclosed balcony is lovely. They have options o tea and coffee in the room. The property and the soundings are beautiful!
We stayed here on the front and back end of our trip to The Springs and Peacelodge. The hotel is nicely decorated, clean, and close to downtown San Jose. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the free breakfast is great. We also ate dinner here and the food is very good. The only downside is that the rooms are small and it can be quite noisy, as there are many buses driving by all the time. I would suggest a room on the top floor and on the opposite side of the Main Street.
This is the best deal in San Jose. The place is modern, the bed was amazing, the restaurant was awesome. Location was central. Highly recommended. Staff was super helpful .
We have always enjoyed staying at Hotel Flor de Lys, however this last time we were on the 3rd floor which was difficult for my husband who has a little hip pain, but since it was for just a few days we did not request a room change. The staff here is always excellent -- very helpful and always very friendly, will go out of their way to assist in any way, and the rooms are always very clean.
We like the location because we always like to walk around central San Jose and go to the Mercado...
I chose this hotel because of its proximity to SJO, the availability of its business center (to print my boarding pass), and the free breakfast to get me going in the morning. I ended up having dinner there the night prior as well. The costs were fair and the food was pretty good. The staff was VERY friendly and accomodating, and when I come back to visit San Jose, I will definitely be staying here again.
This hotel (not really kind of a retreat/B&B) is set away from the surrounding towns and is in the middle of a small working farm. You drive past cows and milking stalls on the way in....you feel that you're stepping even further away from your busy life to a simpler time. When you step inside it does take a while to realize you are really in someones home, and it's very welcoming. There are fires going in the stoves and fireplaces each evening, all the guests and staff are friendly, and feel...

Walking distance to very good restaurants and if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk through nice environment and a big park it is walking distance to downtown area with marketplace, small shops, souvenir shops, etc.

We were floored when we first saw the view and the room! It is so special and our first night was quiet and romantic. The grounds are gorgeous. The staff was exceptional! We only had a couple of complaints and when we had the complaints, the staff was eager to help in any way possible. We had an issue with our DVD player-which in our mind wasn't a huge deal because it's so fantastic there you don't really need movies, but we wanted to relax our last night and we couldn't get the DVD player to...
I was a little worried during the taxi ride to the hotel that I had made a terrible mistake in picking the hotel as some of the areas look a little rough (by American standards), however, once at the gated hotel I realized that I indeed had made a good choice when choosing the location as the property is incredibly calming and beautiful. Just know that since you are out of the city you will need to use Uber eat or a taxi to get food as there is no onsite restaurant.
