I had the most enjoyable stay at Eyja Guldsmeden! A very clean hotel with excellent service! The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the location of the hotel is very convenient. Special thanks to Laura who was super nice and helpful with dining recommendations! Will be back!
The owner and staff were very accommodating and extremely helpful. They also went out of their way to make sure any questions we had were answered. Parking was free, great complimentary breakfast. Property is about a 40 minute drive from the airport, 15 min walk from the center of town. They really care about their business here. Support local small businesses. They truly care.
I recommend the Northern Comfort Apartments. They are a great size for 2 people who plan on spending most of their time seeing the sights. They are extremely clean with nice decor and cozy comforters on the bed. We really liked having the mini kitchen and nearby grocery store to make our own breakfast and coffee before heading out for a day of sight seeing. In walking distance of everything we wanted to see - great, quiet location.
Loved staying in this property! We arrived at 5 am and went by the building around 9 to see if it was ready, and it was! With three kids, i cannot explain how amazing this was! The apartment was clean, beds smelled good, felt comfortable, heat amazing. Spacious 2 br with adequate seating. The laundry was a little hard to operate but was able to use it. Code to open it is 1432 and its written in the elevator. We rented a car and had plenty of street parking each day wout problems. Some people...
This boutique hotel was wonderful! Staff was amazing, especially manager, Sabrina, who was as helpful and accommodating as a concierge would have been at a luxury hotel!
Our super clean room was not huge, but was certainly adequate.
Breakfast spread was lovely. Something for everyone.
Should our travels bring us back to Reykjavík, we would definitely stay there again.
Extremely clean and had all facilities that you need. The hosts were very communicative and responded promptly. Area is very convenient within easy walking distance to places of interests. The kitchen was well stocked. Very convenient for a family of 4 with 2 tteens. Will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit.
I wanted to be independent while visiting Reykjavik and the self-catering option was the first place to look. The reviews for Downtown Reykjavik Apartments (DRA) were great online so I gave it a go. The stay was excellent; the room was clean and warm and the owner, who I ran in to, was really helpful. The location is spot on. There is a Bonus grocery store a few blocks away and then the City itself is an easy walk along the main roads. When I go back to Reykjavik I'll stay here again.
The hotel was easy to find in downtown. The staff was very friendly when we checked in. There is a 2 for 1 happy hour for beer and wine. The on-site parking was convenient and most welcome after a long journey. The twin room was spacious and we had a view of the spiral church, which was lit at night. There is heavy traffic on the street below (we were on the third floor), so if you are a light sleeper, then ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel. The breakfast (which was included...
Great home base for our vacation. We stayed 5 Knights and it was perfect place for day trips around Iceland. Very clean and free easy parking. Plus killer water pressure!
Great location. Very comfortable. (Suggestion) Wish there was a broom in the apartment to sweep the floor after cooking and eating. Kids do spill crumbs on the floor. Getting down on knees to use the whisk broom was not fun after all the meals. And leaving it on the floor was not an option for me.
There was no interaction with any staff. Did receive emails.
Had a great time. Will return!
There wasn’t a front desk but the hotel operated so smoothly with everything you needed in the room or in the linen closet. I would recommend and stay here again it was within walking distant from a few shops
The only thing I did not like was the church bell across the street that rings every 15 minutes, but the hotel provides ear plugs. They were a great help.
Had an amazing experience. The apartment is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Staff is helpful and goes above and beyond. Love this play so much that I almost dont want to share how good it is in fear that prices will go up for next time I come to Iceland!
My stay at Alda & Iceland itself was wonderful. As a solo traveler I felt safe at the hotel & the front desk staff was very helpful as well as friendly! Room was cute & clean. They provided a coffee maker & mini fridge which I stored some items from the Bonus store 2 mins away. I was sad to leave.
My husband, son (1 year), and I stayed here in November. The studio had a wonderful bathroom with a towel warmer! Believe me, you will want it. Great kitchenette and comfy beds. The hotel provides FREE milk, juice, and cereal for your stay. Oh, and tons of free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for FREE!
The staff was very friendly. We also hired a sitter through them for an adult visit to the Blue Lagoon. The sitter showed up 30 minutes early to meet our son and review things. She was...
