We spent our first night in Slovenia here arriving quite late. Eurie at the reception desk was very kind, friendly and welcomed us warmly. The room we had was spacious and clean. In the morning, a delicious breakfast was served in the dining room. Eurie was at the desk in the morning and provided very helpful tips about where to visit in Kranj as well as how to get to our next destination.
Don’t let the term hostel deter you from booking this wonderful hotel. While they do have bunk rooms with shared bathrooms, we booked a beautiful room with ensuite bath. It was quiet and extremely clean. The location of the hotel is walkable from train or bus stations and is in the heart of the historic area of a lovely town. The view from the hostels back terrace and our bedroom was amazing.
My mom and I had such a lovely stay at this little place in the mountains. We booked because it was very close to the airport and she had an early flight. The accommodations were amazing for the price and the staff were so sweet and accommodating. We had dinner as well and were both very happy with our meals. Definitely would book again if I’m in the area!

Yes, it may seem like you are out in the boonies but actually you are only 20 minutes or less from town using the bus which is right across from the hotel. We did several times and it was wonderful, the staff explain how it works and it went off without a hitch. and it you enjoy hiking the mt trail is just down the road, I did one morning and my brother did the next. Our stay at Hotel Blue Mare was wonderful. Our room had a beautiful view of the harbor in Novigrad. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous during our stay.
