Learn more about Georgetown
Beneath ancient live oaks dripping with Spanish moss, Georgetown's historic waterfront reveals America's colonial past without the crowds of its famous neighbors. Kayak through cypress swamps where alligators sun themselves, or join ghost tours that bring maritime lore to life. The Kaminski House Museum offers glimpses into plantation aristocracy, while the Gullah Museum preserves the culture of descendants of enslaved West Africans. Waterfront restaurants serve fresh catches with views of returning shrimp boats. Browse the antique shops along Front Street before watching the sunset paint Winyah Bay in watercolor hues. Nearby Hobcaw Barony's protected wilderness tells environmental stories spanning three centuries.

Anderson Ocean Club and Spa by Oceana Resorts
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean and the views are Amazing!! Beware if you are booking for August, both my husband and myself were stung by jellyfish; apparently August is the worst month for them so do your research. We love this resort and will definitely be back! (Maybe not during the month of August though LOL)"

The Breakers Resort
8/10 Good
"The suite at the Breakers Resort was very nice. The furnishings and kitchen appliances were fairly new. The suite was clean except for the small stain on one if the bedspreads otherwise everything else in the suite was nice. The maid service is practically nonexistent. I had to catch the maid in front of the elevator to get some trash bags, took out my own trash. The elevator is in a bad spot hard to get around in with the luggage carrier. Elevator is always wet and muddy and extremely hot, no air conditioner. The parking lot is across the street from the hotel. The small parking lot in front of the hotel is directly over a sewer and the awful smell gets inside your car while you're loading or un loading. This review is of the building called the Sailfish which is one of 3 buildings squeezed in between other hotels on what is called the grand strand. Staff was nice enough. Nothing extraordinary, answered questions when asked. The balcony was nice. Kitchen was nice new appliances. I had to buy a mattress topper for the bed, much pain after first night."
