Beautiful vista, food was great (strongly recommend doing a dinner reservation AND a breakfast reservation) owner was extremely kind and generous. He spoke better English than I spoke Japanese, which made it extremely easy to meet in the middle. 10/10 experience.
Great option for your Nakasendo trail experience. Beautiful town. Be sure to walk around the temples and find the weeping cherry blossom (I think this was the name).
From the very start to the very finish of our stay, my family and I felt so very welcomed. The hotel was extremely clean and orderly. This particular hotel is very cozy. The onsen bath/ ofuro was extremely relaxing, clean, and refreshing. The staff are above and beyond professional and extremely courteous. We will definitely come back to stay at this hotel. We highly recommend this hotel after a long day of hiking and sightseeing.
Situated at a very nice and quiet location, Suihoen was a fantastic and a high-end place to stay. Their hospitality, food, and facilities were beyond our expectations. Their indoor and outdoor Onsen were pleasant, and our room with a private Onsen was so relaxing and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast served were delicious because of its local rice, vegetables, special tofu and beef. We highly recommend Suihoen for anyone who look for an authentic kaiseki Ryokan experience in a wonderful hot...
Miyama Ouan offers an authentic Japanese cultural experience in beautiful high country/alpine location. Meals were of a variety of ingredients, delicious and always beautifully presented. Miyama Ouan rooms are very comfortable, warm, beautifully cleaned, with private and public onsen. The Hirayu location is in close proximity for bush walking, sight seeing, and to the cable car and bear ranch.
Luxury property with beautiful rooms, stunning views, amazing food and friendly staff. What a great place to stay to relax and enjoy the area. Highly recommend!
I stayed two nights here to see magome and tsumago. The hotel was the best hotel of my trip in Japan offering traditional japanese breakfast and dinner as well as a wonderful onsen. The staff was incredible and kind helping me even though I cannot speak Japanese. I cannot recommend this Hotel enough if you are planning on visiting this part of the Nakasendo Trail.
