"Amazing luxury hotel in the best possible location south of Pontocho and across the bridge from Gion. A huge room with a terrace and a sparkling large bathroom with a shower, wooden tub, and river views. Fridge stocked with beer and soft drinks and a washer-dryer for longer stays. None of this comes cheap but go and enjoy."

"Great central location. Walkable to pontocho alley, Gion district, shoji Gion station (5 stops to fushimi inari shrine), Nishiki market, ninja museum etc etc. it’s a beautiful hotel with top floor bar and 3rd floor lounge with free coffee, wine and snacks in afternoons. "

"There are a lot of shops nearby, all within walking distance. Nishiki market is about 5 minute walk from hotel. Several train stations near hotel. The onsen was fabulous, especially after hours of walking, taking in sights. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Kyoto. It will definitely be where I stay when I return."

"Hotel is located at a small alley leading out to the main busy street of kawamarachi and near to Nishiki market. A short bus ride to Gion Rooms are clean but rather warm. Can’t seem be adjust the air conditioning prob due to winter auto heat. Breakfast semi buffet spread is good. The hotel is next to a shrine/cemetry. "

The buffet breakfast and lunch were above average for the food quality and taste even though the selection was limited. We’ll stay here again next time we visit downtown Kyoto. "
