Locally within walking distance there are ramen restaurants also temples and the Philosophers path. Suited me perfectly as I don't spend much time in hotel I like to be out taking photos. "Our family loved staying here. It was in a lovely neighborhood, easily accessible by subway. Our own private onsen in the room was really great. The free sake tasting and soft serve ice cream was a nice touch. After a full day of walking, their massage chairs were welcoming. We also had a chance to enjoy an authentic Japanese dinner in their restaurant that had a peaceful view of their garden. This stay was one of the best things about visiting Kyoto."

"The owner was very lovely and polite, he prep matcha tea for welcoming us also offering fresh bread making in the morning for our breakfast but my family were very tired from a long day travelling and activities we did in the area, we just want to sleep in so we had to miss out on that. House was clean. The bath was the highlight for us. Just the tap in both toilets a bit hard to operate so we had to wash our hands in the bathroom instead."
