In the village of Herkersdorf (17 km south of Freudenberg) you can find the “Druidenstein”, a legendary basalt cone, located at 457 m altitude in the picturesque landscape of the Westerwald. According to tradition, Celtic priests built a place of worship on the Druid stone in pre-Christian times. My room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The staff were warm, attentive, and always helpful, whether at reception or in the restaurant. Breakfast offered an excellent variety, and the on-site golf facilities were top-notch. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with great service and beautiful surroundings, this hotel is an excellent choice."

"I was charged for the booking by Expedia but the hotel said the room was not paid for, so we assumed it was payment on arrival and paid the hotel. When we returned home, we found that Expedia had also charged us for the same stay. Furthermore the hotel did not provide us with an official receipt, that we can remember. As a result, we are having difficulty getting our duplicate payment refunded from Expedia. We are attempting to contact the hotel to obtain a copy of their receipt to prove to Expedia that we have paid the hotel, directly, in the hope to get our duplicate payment refunded."
