Every aspect of our stay was extremely lovely. The room and amenities were very spacious and lovely and it was very tastefully decorated. The breakfast on the terrace was delicious and beautifully served. Fransois and Helene were most welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed their 4 truffle hunting dogs. A lovely overnight stay and wonderful gourmet food. En route to another town, I needed to spend the night in Gourdon. The hotel was very comfortable and welcoming after a long flight from NY and train ride from Paris. However, I arrived at the train station early in the evening and there were no taxis available at that time of day. The hotel is within walking distance of the station if you are fit (some uphill) and can roll your luggage rather than carry. I recommend that you contact the hotel...

Nice hotel, great view out of our window, wonderful dinner (get the lamb), helpful concierge. Breakfast was problematic, overworked waiter who could not keep straight which customers he should serve next. So, despite being there earlier than most we were served later than some who came after. Parking and driving the tight cobblestone road is also no fun but that is to be expected and comes with the territory. All in all a wonderful stay in a wonderful place. One night is sufficient.

Chateau De Maraval was just the castle experience we wanted from the medieval region from France. We were on a girl's trip and were provided two rooms that were beautifully furnished and stocked up. All the interiors was tastefully done. Outside of the castle is medieval but the rooms were with modern amenities. It was like living the best of two worlds. The property is well maintained. The staff were very helpful and kind. We had an amazing time. We definitely would recommend this for families...
