Beautiful property with a nice spa. The room was very quiet and the bed comfortable. Overall, I had a great stay.
For Improvements, I would recommend to switch form bottled waters in the room and spa to filtered water with glasses to save on plastic.
Lastly, the breakfast was nice but I didn’t feel like it was worth nearly 30 euros.
We loved staying here during the festival. Perfect walking distance from the city center, while still being on a quiet and incredibly charming canal street. Room was a generous size and everything was modern and clean. Highly recommend!
Really helpful and welcoming staff, they are used to travelers and had people who could speak multiple languages. Was easy to get to from the train station, right in the middle of the downtown area, and extremely clean. The room was a good size and very comfortable. I recommend.
The hotel was very clean and the dtaff were wonderful. They were very kind and helpful. Just keep in mind you have to use stairs and no A/C. Very real European experience. We enjoyed it!
Just wow! I almost don't even know where to start. This place is fabulous from top to bottom. The location cannot be beat. I think this used to be a seminary so revamping the property into a hotel was absolutely a brilliant plan! The security measures in place are phenomenal. Walking in, all 3 of us literally said "wow." the decor is amazing in every way and we would love to purchase whatever they use to clean or to scent the air! The perfect place to stay! I was backpacking and stopped here for a couple nights and it was great, right next to the trams/buses/trains and location was only 20 minutes walk to centre. They had lots of seating in the front/bar area that was great, along with an outside section. Rooms are comfortable and a good amount of space. It was a perfect reset, would definitely recommend!
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Ghent River Hotel. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was also large. Points were taken away for cleanliness because of some cobwebs that were above the bed and sink. I was also taken aback by stored luggage being left by the front entrance- easy for anyone to take. However, overall I would recommend the Ghent River Hotel and I'm sure a view of the river would have made this hotel even more grand,
Exceptional stay in the Family Rooms, plenty of space, comfortable beds, fantastic breakfast. Breakfast is not included if you book on a third-party site, it is well worth purchasing it! So many delicious options. The dinners are a bit pricey, but the food is extraordinary. Try the Bar-B- Que ribs and the Tenderloins. Fantastic! Easy trip to downtown Bruges.
This may be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. First of all, I love history and so you are staying where King Charles II had his castle. Secondly, the breakfast was amazing. Third, the rooms had beautiful chandeliers with high ceilings. And finally the wellness area had a lovely sauna room. The hotel was so close to all the picturesque spots. We will be back!
Great boutique hotel in Bruges. Excellent breakfast, nice staff and a short 5 minute walk from the central square. And as a bonus: one of the best beer shops (sorry the name escapes me right now but you can't miss it) in Bruges is only about 300 meters or so from the hotel.
