We spent 2 weeks touring Guatemala, attracted by its natural beauty and the Mayan civilization. Hotel Bolontiku is one of our best part. Initially we didn't know that it's a hidden jewel on the lake. The property was amazing.. the staff was great. A gem in an unlikely location. Although there was no other hotel like it around, it was a 5-7 minute drive to the Island of Flores where all the night life and restaurants are. Would definitely come again.
Not too small. Not too big. But the rooms are nicely-sized. And while the hotel does not have central air conditioning, the in-room units are powerful, which is an absolute necessity (for me, at least) in the very hot, very humid rain forest of the Peten. The docks that are pictured in the photos are submerged underwater and have been for some time as they are very slippery and covered in algae but the property is still very usable and extremely beautiful. The staff was so kind and attentive and they let us stay on the property 5 hours past our checkout time until our flights were leaving! The food from the restaurant and the drinks from the bar were absolutely delightful. We loved our stay here and would absolutely go back again.

One of the older hotels on the island but going strong. Clean and up-to-date rooms. I had one of the cheaper ones overlooking the pool. Staff was helpful and friendly. Packed breakfast and taxi were arranged for my early morning flight (before regular breakfast service)
