Great Ryokan. The property is beautiful and it's not far from the Kumamoto limousine bus stop (the hotel gives you rides to and from the stop anyway). Short walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and the main area of the town.
Top notch service and super clean. The outdoor onsen is incredible.
A few (minor) complaints:
-Some of the decorations are a bit tacky
-You only get one bath towel during your stay. If you want an extra one you have to pay extra. This seemed...weird given the...
My mom and I absolutely loved our stay at Suikomareso! It is a beautiful home with so much attention to detail in the finishes that reflects the local craftsmanship. The host is friendly and helpful with plenty of great recommendations for things to see and do around Hita. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to the area!
Wonderful ryokan stay at Yufuin Kutsurogi no Yado Nanakawa. The location is very convenient, close to Yufuin Floral Village, quaint shops, and many restaurants. We enjoyed the half-board stay, and the food was sumptuous and beautifully prepared. The room was peaceful and comfortable, with a relaxing private onsen. A perfect place to slow down and enjoy the charm of Yufuin.
This was the first time my best friend Lina and I had stayed at a ryokan, and although it was a perfect trip overall, the only difficult part was walking up the hill to the ryokan with our luggage. The staff were very kind, and the two breakfasts and two dinners, each featuring exquisite delicacies, left us in awe every time. The temperature of the hot spring water was just right and gentle. What truly moved us, however, happened after we had checked out. While we were waiting in line at the...
Beautiful clean room, Onsen was great and so relaxing. Dinner was traditional Japanese and as good as I’ve EVER had. I would 100% recommend to anyone. We intend to return frequently.
Very nice amenities and great view! Unfortunately, when we arrived, we didn’t know which home we were staying in. We just tried the pin at each of the lockboxes until it worked. It was later that we realized each of the homes had a different name (Pool, Sauna, Garden, etc.) The hot springs tub was lovely and my kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. The kitchen was well stocked and the free drinks were very nice. Also the taxi reservation helped a lot since we didn’t have a rental car. Thank you for...
A really nice Japanese style Onsen Hotel with great staff and a warm atmosphere. Their traditional Japanese breakfast was amazing as was the family onsen. Just a short walk from the train station and super close to all the shopping and food stores on the Main Street.
Parking was excellent, huge car park at rear with direct access to hotel lounge.
Super clean, modern rooms.
There is a food warm up arena with oven, grill, microwave and utensils!
What Hotel Moda lacks in aesthetic charm found in traditional Japanese ryokan, it more than makes up for in modern amenities, comfort, and level of service. The private onsen is clean and spacious and my wife and I really liked their curation of toiletries and accessories - I was particularly taken by the pajamas the hotel prepared. The staff was incredibly considerate and even generously provided free transportation to/from the town center (a cab from Yufuin station would otherwise cost about...
