El Tigre is a beautiful place to stay. The service from Andrea, Randy and team was amazing…even though the location is remote, we had everything we needed thanks to their exemplary customer service. The hike to the waterfalls was incredible and we loved the villa. Great blend of activity and relaxation. Just a perfect long weekend in the Bamboo House with our daughter!
We booked a single night here at the very last minute trying to escape the heat of the west coast beach towns. We were so glad we did. This hotel is absolutely stunning. We had one of the rooms upstairs from the lobby rather than one of the bungalows but the room was amazing with a spacious first floor, kitchenette, balcony and a very cool loft bedroom/bath. The grounds at the hotel are amazing. The tropical gardens that surround the guest rooms, paths, and pool make for a very relaxing stay. The rooms are spaced well apart and have a lot if privacy from the covered verandas. The views are incredible. The location is perfect for exploring and taking advantage of the many activities in the area.
Room was nicely decorated. Staff was friendly. Nice view out back of room into the woods.
We had a 7:00 am tour so we couldn’t utilize regular breakfast. They made us a sandwich, fruit, and juice which was appreciated, but if all that was done, they could have just as easily fed us normal breakfast a little early. Also, a little difficult to check out and still be able to access your car when you return.

super cute cabins in the middle of the cloud forest! I loved staying here. it was very windy making it a bit scary, but I put the mat under the door to make the door not jiggle and I was fast asleep. we had number 15 and it was perfect. it was a king bedroom suite, living room, kitchen and huge bathroom! I will absolutely recommend to everyone i know going to Costa Rica! #puravida
Outstanding place to stay! Beautiful grounds, great accommodations and excellent staff! We saw so many wonderful birds thanks to their feeding station. We did their night walk tour and it was fascinating! I’d highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed if your looking for beautiful grounds, great service and bird watching.

Hotel was in a quiet area of Monteverde and you felt very secluded, although you were very close to town and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful with making reservations for the tours we took. Bring some warm clothing as it can get a little chilly in the early morning and at night.
This is a wonderful place to relax. Provides peace and privacy. No elevators. Try to use a wheeled luggage as the way to the rooms is ways up from the lobby. Also, it would be nice to have a USB charger on the night table. Restaurant serves excellent food.
Just book it. You will not regret it! The kitchen is well-appointed, bed is very comfortable, the deck chairs are great, and the staff was lovely! No railing outside, so don’t bring little kids (noted in the description). Driveway is a bit steep but you need 4wd in Monteverde anyway. Lots of great markets or restaurants nearby!
Place was clean and basic. Liked that shopping and restaurants were walkable distance (uphill coming back can be a challenges). I loved that you can book tours through the reception area.
This is SUCH a beautiful property. I stayed here as a solo female traveler and I was absolutely in love with my room! It was so spacious, and the property itself is so well maintained and has such a gorgeous ambiance. It’s in a really great location in Monteverde, and I felt safe the entire time I was here. All the staff had phenomenal customer service and went above and beyond to ensure I enjoyed myself. The food was always excellent, too! My only gripe was that the drinks didn’t seem to be...
Milena and her husband are truly wonderful people who shared their little gem with anyone who stays over and you just don’t want to leave. This place is truly special I strongly recommend. I have travel all over the world and this place had the best hospitality and food for a reasonable price.

The hotel is ideally located with a spectacular view. It is close to the nature preserve, restaurants, markets. The lobby, sitting area, terraces, and rooms are large and airy. The breakfast was outstanding. The grounds are extensive and had lots of exotic birds to watch. I enjoyed the hotel and will come back to stay again with my family.
