Stayed one night for a layover in Quito. Very close to the airport, simple amenities but enough for one night. They offered free shuttle service to the airport, I just gave the driver a tip. Would recommend for airport layovers.
I somehow thought this would be closer to the airport, but it was about a 30 minute drive. Nevertheless, Llalo was very clean, safe, professionally operated and the breakfast on the porch was ideal. The rates were appropriate for the lodging. I highly recommend it.

excellent option for overnight near the airport. The hotel arranged pick-up (for a charge) and drop off; quick check-in, a comfortable quiet bed for the night, am breakfast. The buildings are inside a walled compound, with plenty of space plus protection from neighborhood noise, and a sense of security. Staff were helpful.
Hotel Finlandia has great staff that speak English and Spanish. The rooms offer ample space with adequate closet space. The bathroom was nicely appointed with a large shower and a small countertop. The Hotel has good security and the elevators only open at your floor (activated by the room key). The bed and pillows were a bit more firm than I am used to, but certainly comfortable enough. What I like most from this property it was the view from the balcony, early in the morning or late on the evening, being in that balcony I could take my best shots with my camera to the city
Great location. Mall across the street with super maxi. Lots atms. Strip club across the street. Easy taxi ride to anywhere you need. Staff is excellent. No ac but I had cheap room. Didn’t need it though.

I was traveling by myself (female) and found it very safe to walk around the area to Plaza Foch (just 1-2 minute walk from the hotel) to get a bite to eat or hail a taxi or go for a drink.

The environment at the hotel was extremely welcoming, the service was great and the room was well equipped and clean. I particularly enjoyed the walking tour with Santiago, who was very thorough with his explanations and showed us the best of Quito’s beautiful historical town! Even though I was traveling solo, I never felt alone because of the staff. I would definitely recommend this place to any travellers looking for a more personal and traditional trip in Quito!
Location: perfect for us, walking distance to Old town, lovely view of Virgen de Panecillo from veranda and dining room. Has a very relax atmosphere. Wifi is great! Very clean, neat, & the staff was absolutely fantastic!! Food was great! Oh the saunas were so so so relaxing.
The only reason I checked off the area outside of the property being unsafe is that Ecuador was under marshall law so we did not feel safe outside the hotel. BUT WE FELT TOTALLY SAFE & COMFORTABLE INSIDE!!!

It is located within an easy 3 minute walk to Plaza Grande on Venezuela St. Tell your taxi driver "Venezuela y Olmedo" that will get you to the nearest corner. The hotel is above a gift shop so you have to be let in/out by the staff. There is a buzzer at the door, and they answer quickly. This is an extra security measure and was not an inconvenience.
