I’ve been a repeat guest at Provident Oceana over the years, drawn back by its fantastic location in Treasure Island. The proximity to the beach and local attractions remains a highlight, making it a convenient spot for a relaxing getaway. However, my most recent stay left me disappointed with several aspects that didn’t align with the property’s “luxury resort” branding.
The cleanliness of the room was a major letdown. The floors were noticeably dirty, which was surprising and unacceptable for a property of this caliber. Additionally, the kitchen amenities were inadequate for a room designed to sleep six. There were only three regular-sized glasses and four small juice glasses, which felt insufficient. Several coffee cups and plates were chipped, further detracting from the experience and raising concerns about attention to detail.
The introduction of a resort fee for pool access and towels also felt like a misstep. For a property marketing itself as a luxury resort, these amenities should be included without an additional charge. It left a sour impression, especially when paired with the other shortcomings.
While the location keeps me coming back, I hope management addresses these issues—cleanliness, proper equipping of rooms, and reconsideration of the resort fee—to restore the property’s appeal and truly deliver on the luxury experience they promise.
