When I was growing up, the name Ethan Allen was synonymous with quality. This hotel was anything but that from the front desk staff to the room conditions to the food. The lobby looks good and that’s where it ends. The hallway carpets are filthy with worn spots and even holes in some places. There were wrappers on the floor and a broken ice machine before we even got into the room. The bathroom is small, outdated and in poor condition. The style of toilet is so odd because it is very low and wide where you almost have to sit sideways. The drain was 1/2 out, the bottom of the tub was dirty and worn, there was hair on the floor upon our entrance, peeling wall paper, dusty furniture, non-working tv and floor lamp in the bedroom area, missing closet door and the headboard of one bed was tattered and peeling. For the 3 nights we were there as a family of 4, we could only get 3 wash cloths total which is disgusting. I had to specifically request daily cleaning otherwise they don’t provide that until after a certain number of nights. Every day we had to request more towels as 2 towels for 4 people is not enough. The restaurant is worn down. When we first arrived for breakfast, all of the chafing dishes were nearly empty, what was there was cold in the bagels were hard and stale. It was also very strange to know that rooms are being occupied for medical reasons and to see medical personnel walking between rooms with hospital tray tables.
