The room was a bit dirty; floors, dish sink, dishes, etc. The problem was day one I ordered the Prime Burger and fruit plate. Within 30 minutes I was in serious pain attempting to remove what I ate. The burger was awful tasting and after two bites I quit. The fruit plate looked as if it were sitting out, the watermelon especially didnt look right. I was hungry and tried to eat but the attempt was a bad decision. Hotel states they will refund that meal. They charge 10 times for shuttle service vs Grab (support locals with using Grab). Many of the staff either don’t speak english very well and I needed to really slow down the pace, but still many dead stares or staff just unaware of what guest are needing. Breakfast did not look inviting and only could eat cereal with the hot milk that looked cold. No liquid creamer in Starbucks and you cannot use powder in iced coffees; and there was milk in the refrigerator but not for creaming black coffees I guess. The staff are very kind; just extremely under trained in hotel operations; worse I’ve see in similar establishments across the Philippines. The manager did attempt to but me dinner and discuss my disapproval, very nice gesture, but I kindly declined that and a free shuttle back to Davao International Airport. And if you are a couple or a single traveler like myself hoping for peace by the pool, this is not the place; many families and they are in the pool from open to close; very loud. Davao is on my PH never to return list.
