The property and rooms were wonderful and the resort would have gotten an excellent rating from us, except for the food; the kitchen was understaffed we ended up having to order our dinner food to go and it still took an hour, and then there was breakfast, had better breakfasts at a roadside motel, need to look up what a "frittata" actually is and it could have been tolerable but it was not included in the expensive room and cost for 4 of us over a $100 for a lousy buffet.

We had a great weekend! Enjoyed golfing and canoeing the lake. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the grilled oysters are to die for. It is in an isolated area away from the hustle and bustle, great escape and exactly what we were looking for! Only thing I wish I knew in advance to booking is that the main lodge has no elevator and there is no adjacent parking. Overall a great place and recommend it highly!

10/10 Exceptional

I booked this stay at the last minute due to a current booking not working out. I only wish I knew this place existed beforehand! The only thing I would change would be staying a week rather than a night. The staff was down to earth and friendly. My son and I ate dinner and breakfast on-site and both were fantastic. There is something for everyone here and we are already planning a longer stay next time. Do yourself a favor and book a stay here!
Jennifer, 1-night trip

Great resort!

We only stayed one night, but could easily spend several! There are a lot of free activities included, like canoes, bowling, corn hole, games and bikes all on site. Also a golf course is available. Lots of little cabins and then the main house with a huge screened in porch and lots of sitting areas. Think Dirty Dancing resort. Right on water. Only downer was the breakfast buffet. $22 each for what you get for free at any budget hotel.
Joseph, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Great little resort w/ fun stuff to do, bikes, golf, canoes, paddle boats, tennis etc. The old school game room including candlestick bowling lanes was a highlight. Restaurant and Pub had good food and drinks. Friendly and helpful staff. Light House ocean view room was awesome. Tastefully updated decor and comfortable bedding. Only downside was a very weak "included breakfast". Coffee wasn't great, and only cold options and pastries. Unfortunately, I feel you would need to go off resort to get a proper breakfast.... I would definitely stay here again for a few days in spring/summer time.
Jeremy, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

It was really disappointing that the only night we were there was Tuesday and everything was closed. All of the on-site facilities like for eating and drinking we’re closed. Also, the close by restaurants were closed and we had to go to bath for dinner. Also, if you stay in the main lodge, there is no elevator to get you to another floor so you have to carry your luggage of the stairs.
Kelly, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

To be honest we stayed in the light house and some other guests were partying above us until after 1:00 AM and my wife and I got very little sleep! I did contact the front desk and they stopped down to tell them to stop at around 11:00 but never returned and they never stopped they only got louder! Felt threatened by the group outside our room door! Worst night ever!
Leon, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Stayed for two nights with my husband at the main lodge. Property looked outdated and worn. Our bedroom was clean but the door to the bathroom didn’t close, the drain of the tub was clogged with a lot of long hair which I discovered when trying to figure out why the water wasn’t draining and we didn’t have any warm water in our bathroom on the first morning. This issue was fixed when we returned to the hotel in the evening. Beds weren’t made and room/ bathroom wasn’t cleaned during our stay. The location is absolutely beautiful and the resort offers a lot of activities once all facilities are open and available. We regretted that the pool which is right on the water and looking out onto the bay was closed.
Claudia, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

First the good: pretty property on the water, good restaurant on site with nice waitress and helpful staff, comfortable beds, attractively decorated. Now the bad: parking was a longer distance from the main lodge than preferred, and you cannot pull up to drop off luggage (or my elderly father). We had to lug our suitcases up the stairs because we didn't find an elevator. There were no staff in the main lodge to help. The bathroom has no vent, and you can see streaks on the walls in the bedroom where condensation collected and ran down the wall. The air conditioner kept kicking on (and was LOUD) throughout the night. Fire alarm went off at 5:45AM, and the office was locked w/ no staff to be found. We had an early appointment, so grabbed our things (skipped getting ready) & left before the fire department showed up. Would not stay here again.

We stayed an extra night. Rooms were nice. Lots to do. We did not like the food, but everything else was great! Bonus was a pickleball lesson from Dennis - great instructor and time!
Danielle, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Not worth the price

Showed signs of age. Worn handrails, weeds, paint missing, rust on exposed pipes. Missing bags/corn hole items. Open wifi, so insecure. Maids closet open all night. No hot water in entire main building. No notice or explanation. I looked for a tech. Found a fuel oil truck pulling in and starting to pump in oil. Since not heating season, likely ran out of fuel for hot water. Asked desk to have manager contact me and emailed also. No reply. No opportunity to shower before checkout. Also saw a guest allow his dog in the hot tub by the pool. Classy.
