Wonderful hotel with incredible views of the lake and in a very quiet location. Plenty of parking available. The staff are welcoming and very attentive. There is no restaurant for dinner and it’s a very steep walk into the town so we decided to get delivery for dinner at an Italian restaurant recommended by the receptionist which was fantastic. There’s a nice selection of welcome sweet treats and prosecco at reception which was a nice touch. The spa is incredible and has a sauna that overlooks the lake. Great selection for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

The most spectacular view of the lake; really gorgeous. The room we had was very spacious for Europe and all the amenities like balcony, bathroom, etc. were very nice. We were there in July so it was a bit warm at night even with the doors/windows open and the rooms don't have fans or A/Cs. The biggest downside is that you will either need to use a car/taxi to go to and from town as it is a trek up to the top of a very tall hill - even for people who are in shape! The breakfast buffet and the staff were amazing!

Wir waren mit Hund eine Woche im Westerhof Tegernsee. Ausgesprochen sehr freundliches Personal am Empfang und beim Frühstück! Hilfsbereit und herzlich! Zimmer sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet mit Seeblick. Das Hotel ist wirklich empfehlenswert!

The location is on a hill with beautiful green grounds surrounding the hotel, overlooking the Tegernsee (lake) The rooms were modern and comfortable, there's a nice terrace to enjoy coffee or tea, and a self service bar available. Our dog also liked the spacious gardens the the forest paths.

Beautiful views.

Beautiful hotel, with spectacular views of the lake. But, it was a bit of a hike to the waterfront and city center. The walk down wasn’t bad, the walk back was cab worthy. The hotel is very nice, excellent breakfast, service and views.

Wir haben 3 Nächte in einer Juniosuite übernachten, die sehr geräumig und schön eingerichtet war. Vom Balkon hatte man einen grandiosen Blick auf den Tegernsee und die gleichnamige Ortschaft, Rottach-Egern etc. Alles war sehr sauber und der Zimmerservice perfekt. Allerdings fehlten die sonst üblichen Annehmlichkeiten im Bad, wie Nagelpfeile, Watte, Körpercreme etc. Dass es sich um ein Hotel garni handelt, hat Expedia verschwiegen. Zum Essen muss man daher den längeren Abstieg zum See in Kauf nehmen oder mit dem Auto fahren. Das Frühstücksangebot ist reichhaltig, es kann auf einer herrlichen Sonnenterrasse eingenommen werden. Service beim Frühstück ist angemessen, aber den Gästen nicht zwingend zugewandt. Insgesamt haben wir wenig Personal im Haus wahrgenommen. Bar mit Selbstbedienung. Die defekte Stehlampe, die am ersten Abend zu kokeln begann, ist trotz Unterrichtung der Rezeptionistin bis zur Abreise nicht entfernt worden. Der Westerhof bietet komfortable und saubere Zimmer mit sagenhaftem Ausblick, aber aufgrund des begrenzten Personaleinsatzes fühlt man sich als Gast nur eingeschränkt "umsorgt".

A Serene Retreat with Limited Dining Options

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The only downside was the lack of room service or evening dining options. To find a restaurant, you need to walk down to the lakes and then make your way back up a steep set of stairs, which takes around 20 minutes, depending on your fitness level. Taxis are also scarce in the area. While the location is beautiful, having your own vehicle would be ideal. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful during my stay, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

A little worn, but very pleasant

This is a nice place. The staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful, and the view of the lake is just stunning. The room, carpet, and some of the furniture had seen better days. But the bathroom was updated and the bed was comfortable. Just a note, the hotel is a very steep walk 20 minutes up a hill from town. You wouldn't walk it unless you wanted some serious exercise. But overall, I'd return.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. Our room was fabulous, and that view was spectacular. Breakfast was the best food I had in Germany with a view that did not disappoint! The front desk people were helpful and spoke English. The dining staff were wonderful, and though they didn't speak English and we didn't speak German, were extremely welcoming. The one drawback is that it was difficult to access with the road closed when we were there. We walked up the path with our suitcases from the Bahnstation - it was memorable to say the least; I would recommend taking a taxi up if you have bags!

Aussicht top, sonst nichts

Sehr schöne aussicht. Mit dem Auto ca 6 min vom Zentrum, aber zu Fuss unmöglich, da die Strasse sehr steil ist. Also muss man jedes mal runterfahren und Parkplatz suchen. Das Hotel hat leider nichts, ausser Bad and Breakfast. Keine Verpflegung (Restaurant), keine Bar, kein Pool. Also trotz wunderschönen Aussicht, kann man nichts machen! Matratze leider Katastrophe, kein Klima!!
