4/10 Regular

I booked this place for my wife, her sister, and our niece because it had decent reviews and was allegedly a 3-star hotel. We happened to read more recent reviews and they were bad... and more accurate as it turns out.
The front desk staff was friendly. No issue there. The first room the ladies got was infested with 50+ lady bugs buzzing and flying around. Yikes!
The second room they got had only 5 of them, and they decided to deal with it. That room looked to be in the middle of a remodel, or needed one. Not sure which, but it certainly wasn't 3-star quality.
One of the wash clothes had a big hand print on it. It would be impossible not to have seen it when the washcloth was folded. The front desk did replace it with a clean one, but....
On a positive note, the mattresses seemed to be fairly new and were comfortable. Based on the rest of the pages, they were very worried about bed bugs, but didn't see any evidence of such.
The hallways smelled like an Indian restaurant. I love Indian food, but it was overpowering and not appropriate for a hotel unless free plates of chicken masala were served every night.
The breakfast was not edible. The eggs had a weird taste to them that none of women could stomach. The water dispenser with lemons seemed like a nice touch, but that water also had a strange taste to it like maybe the lemons had been in there too long or the dispenser had not been cleaned in a while.
When we booked, the description said
