Acropolis Stay was an overall decent stay with some positives and a few frustrations. The location was solid, but it ended up being a little farther from the main highlights of Athens than we expected. It was generally a 20+ minute walk to Plaka, the Acropolis, or Monastiraki Square. We stayed in the rooftop room, which honestly felt more like a gimmick than an upgrade. There is technically a view of the Acropolis, but it’s really just a small sliver of a view and not quite what we imagined. The room itself was also far too small for comfort. One of the bigger issues was that the bathroom access was directly next to the bed, which lacked privacy and made things a bit awkward. Unfortunately, the toilet also constantly had a sewer smell during our stay. One fun touch was the mini golf/putt putt setup, which at least gave us something unique to do. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the visit. One thing to note for travelers is that there is no elevator for guests, only for luggage, so getting to the rooftop room meant climbing about four and a half flights of stairs. Also worth mentioning: several cab drivers were unfamiliar with the hotel, which occasionally made transportation a little inconvenient. Overall, it was a fine stay, but we probably would choose a different room or possibly a different location next time.
