10/10 Exceptional

The number one point of this fabulous hotel is Raj and his staff. They will do anything to accommodate and I mean anything. The room is spacious and clean, the complimentary breakfast is just what you need on Ireland. The location and view is breathtaking, minutes from the train and buses. To underline Raj is terrific
Paul, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

When booking the breakfast add-on raised the cost by £114?!? Im sure that was a technical error but not one i was going to fight. The room was clean but very warm. The TV is also only internet TV so No personal subscriptions-No TV. Not ideal.
Kate, 1-night trip

Very difficult to get the air coach to the airport. Not easy to book a taxi. Relied on the locals for help. To isolated
Wendy, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Wonderful, quaint, perfect location.

The hotel is charming, and right on the water. Perfect to get up early and go walk the shoreline. The coffee is the small shop is EXCELLENT, as was some of the cake/pastry we sampled. The small deck off the coffee shop is beautiful and overlooking the water. Also, there is a train right by the hotel that goes directly into Dublin. Perfect to avoid driving!!! The only two downsides: 1) It was a party atmosphere outside late night. If you want to sleep early, it can be difficult. 2) We tried to get into our room a little early, and the hotel could not accommodate us. Conversely, they asked that we actually wait longer than checkin time.
Bert, 2-night trip

The Strand hotel has seen better days in the past

I'll check the grammar and spelling in British English for you: This is the second time we stayed at The Strand, and we were a little disappointed this time. We stayed in a different room and this second visit was not as good as the first one. The hotel was understaffed with no 24-hour reception, and we needed to wait and look for the staff in the bar or restaurants more than once. The café with the terrace and nice view to the sea was not open this time. A real pity. The condition of the rooms was OK, but some of the lights, curtains, and windows required a little maintenance. Nothing terrible, but we were expecting something better for that money. The bed was a different story and we were more disappointed with. We are tall people by Irish or European standards, but the length of my bodies hardly fit in the small bed. Similarly, the toilet was small and not very comfortable. I understand that price is relative to demand, but we may consider staying in Dublin and avoid staying in Bray for that price and quality of this hotel room.
Esteban, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The location was decent, but there were issues. The towel warmer in the bathroom was dripping water on the floor, which wasn't a huge issue. The biggest problem was the noise. On the first night we heard what sounded like someone moving furniture for hours above us. The second night, in addition to the furniture moving noises, there was loud dance music being played, I think at the restaurant on the property (we didn'tleaveour room to investigate). We barely got any sleep. Had we known that the place turned into a club on Friday nights, we wouldn't have booked.
Donna, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Not a fan.

There is absolutely NO free PARKING if any parking avail. That is not reported accutrately on the website. They only have 4 parking spots. It was the middle of heat wave and NO airflow through the building and we were in the attic and refused to open the attic window for airflow. Our bedroom was 98F. Owner told us to go cool off at the shore outside. Pillows were hard as rocks.
April, 1-night trip

Floor looked as though it hadn’t been vacuumed, stains on bedding and strands of hair found on pillows. The staff was quick to change the bedding with the stains.
