We stayed here as a family and at first I wasn’t sure what to expect since it felt more like a homestay than a hotel — no reception or breakfast area like you’d normally see. But it turned out to be such a wonderful experience. The rooms were huge, it being connecting rooms, giving us all the space we needed with separate bathrooms and a lovely balcony overlooking the river. It was so convenient to be able to dry our clothes outside and still enjoy the view of the riverside.
The real highlight was the hosts. The owner and his family went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Especially,, the host (Mon), he was incredibly kind, attentive, and even became friends with our kids — they felt safe and happy around him, which meant a lot. He helped us book excursion, provided free bikes, and personally cooked us breakfast every day, happily adjusting it when we asked for something different. The service truly felt 10/10, with a personal touch you don’t get in bigger hotels.
A couple of small downsides: the pool was really more of a plunge pool, so the kids wished it was bigger, though we could use the next-door pool for a small fee. Also on some nights the live music across the street was very loud until about 10:00pm, which was a bit disruptive.
Overall, our 11-day stay was a lovely and memorable experience. The warmth and hospitality of the family made it so special. I’m sure my children will forever remember this.
