This was an Expedia no-refund reservation. Most of the reviews were positive. I thought I was supporting a small mom and pop business during pandemic. Pictures of rooms on Expedia were cute and clean. When we pulled up, the parking lot was full of cars. People hanging out in office and dining room chairs, half dressed/loung clothes at 3:30PM. Office a mess, dark, with rent due on desk. Clerk looked like the tenants and was visibly embarrassed. We followed her through everyone outside and to a room around the corner that was "newly" reinovated. There was new laminate covering a big dip in the floor. The picture glass above bed was broken, the sink was yellow with age, you could see the dirt on the baseboards. I lifted the mattress and box spring to check for bedbugs (since I read that in an Expedia review AFTER purchasing the room). No visible signs of bed bugs but both were discolored, worn and box spring torn. We left for dinner and did not return to room. We paid to stay at another hotel because this place felt unsafe and unclean. The next morning, we drove by to drop off key in drop box, I wanted to take pictures as evidence but someone came out of his room and asked what I was looking for and then whistled like calling a dog. I left immediately. It does not look like the pictures. Trash all over the ground.
