4/10 Fair

Basic

Unfortunately there was two of us and only one stool to sit and eat our meals. A cloth would have been useful to mop up spills on counter. Convenient for attractions etc. Beware very steep stairs to rooms!

I had a private room and it was wonderful! Such a great place, convenient and in a really cool area. The facilities were great and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommended.

It was my first time staying there and genuinely its best if you are looking for a cheap, safe and centred in downtown Toronto! Its location I'd say is the best, near everything and you have a streetcar statiom literally in front of the hostel. Highly recommend it if you wanna get the maximum of enjoying outdoor activities and just wanna just the hostel for sleeping over and relax.
Yassine, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Couldn’t move in to the place. I booked the place
Akwasi, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

The staff have a really bad attitude towards people who stay there
Arwyn, 5-night trip

This place is a bait-and-switch scam

This place is a total SCAM, it is actually a run down hostel but they advertise it as a hotel. The room was disgusting and looked nothing like the photos. The window was duct taped, the AC didn't work and it was the middle of a heatwave, everything was in bad shape and the furniture / bed was uncomfortable. There was no front desk to ask for a new room, only a phone number to call who did not return my calls. This is a complete bait-and-switch operation that I recommend you avoid.
1-night trip

8/10 Very good

It was warm in spring, so summer might get pretty hot. Also, it can be a noisy area. However, it's in a central area and we could walk everywhere from there. The sink in the washroom was rather small, but we had everything we needed for our vacation at a great price.

Patricia, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

We did an overnighter in the spring to see a concert at the garrison. It was super convenient for location from union station as well as Billy bishop! Would recommend. Check in and checkout were super efficient. The only thing I’d recommend is double checking the doors lock behind you (esp your room. If the latch isn’t turned the right way your door is unlocked.). Absolutely not an issue at all though. Great value for price to be in downtown Toronto.
Bonnie, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

It’s a studio apartment, has a microwave & a kettle. Yet they only provide 2 mugs! Had to ask for bowls & cutlery, the poor receptionist could only offer 1 bowl a spoon, a teaspoon & a fork! Shambolic to say the least. The room did its job, shower was good & toilet was functional. Room was clean. Only thing to be aware of was the bed end, it has parts that protrude at the foot end, they hurt when your toes hit them!
Adam, 3-night trip

2/10 Poor

Skip this place!

The check-in was the easiest part of our stay. AVOID this place. I booked 2 nights before reading the reviews. I thought it couldn't be that bad but , i was soo wrong. It was worst. I had to spray the bed with lysol just to make sure the bedbugs wouldn't get me. It was 40° degrees that day and i was looking forward to cooling down and settling in. The A.C was on full blast, so was the extra fan and the ceiling one. It was hotter in my room than in the hall or outside for that matter. My last straw was having to kill a roach in the shower. The blinds wouldn't go down so we had to make sure we weren't giving the neighbors a free show. The neighborhood is sketchy and the reception door wasn't locked. Anybody could get in. I decided to take a loss and booked another hotel on my second night.
Caroline, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Close enough to parking options with parking garage about half a block a way. Decent area. Had minor hiccup with dying battery on door lock but other than that good stay. Staff were real friendly and excellent to me the whole time.
Ryan, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very good location. No staff after 10pm, no emergency office phone number if something unexpected happens after 10pm.
