We lived in SD for many years, and visiting always feels like returning home. We've stayed at many SD hotels over the years, and this was by far the best! We were amazed! It was like a sweet tropical resort without the hefty price tag. It exceeded all our expectations ..
1. The room was spacious and clean with a heater and AC that both worked well. There was plenty of storage, and we had a great patio right off our room that led to a pathway going either to the pond or the pool.
2. The pool area was great. Clean with nice loungers, heated pool, hot tub, and 4 bonfire seating areas. It had great hours, being open until 11PM, which is late compared to a lot of hotels.
3. The surroundings of the hotel were pretty, being on the harbor. There was a pond with fish and turtles, and ducks and ducklings walking around. You could easily walk to restaurants or this cute coffee/gelato shop nearby.
4. It was quiet at night. We were on the 1st fooor and usually we hear people above us. We saw people, and knew neighbors existed, but we heard nothing so I'm assuming the walls are thick.
5. The lobby area has a place where you can grab snacks or hot/cold water.
