I chose this location for the weekend because I was in town with my granddaughter for her cheer competition and just about everything nearest the venue was booked. The price point was within my budget and while the average review was 7, many of the most recent reviews ranked this hotel very high due to recent remodeling. This hotel is located a a truck stop exit off I-10 so there is a lot of noise from big trucks pulling in and out of the neighboring parking lot throughout the night. As stated in other reviews, the parking lot is very well lit, which is nice. I did find it easy to park right in front of my room, which was also nice. Check in was easy. It had been an unusually warm and humid weekend for early February so I’d like to blame the dank odor of the room and the difficulty of opening and closing the door on that. I immediately turned the a/c on, hoping that would help with the damp feeling of the room. It did not. The refrigerator and microwave worked. The beds were clean. I checked for evidence of bugs and did not find any so I was happy about that. The toilet in the bathroom was clean, but the tub was not. Luckily I brought Clorox wipes with me so I cleaned the tub before we showered. There were also some random hairs stuck to the bathroom walls. The continental breakfast was good enough with options such as biscuits and gravy, link sausage, waffles, various breads, cereal, yogurt and fruit. There was also coffee, orange juice and apple juice available.
