We spent one night while in Katy for medical reasons. The room was spacious and clean; however, we immediately heard the nearby traffic. Later, when going to bed, I noticed a foul odor. Initially, I believed it might be drifting in from outside or another room; however, it was the bed linens. They smelled like brussel sprouts or cabbage. I had to retrieve my two pillows from our car to be able to relax. Our room was next to a hearing-impaired room, and the TV there was insufficient sound insulation, as already noted, so we could hear that TV until midnight, and then it started up again around 2am. We had our White Noise App on the highest level, but the voices from next door continued keep us awake. To top it all off, the TV didn’t work. When I went out to my car to retrieve my pillows (in my PJs), I told the on-duty manager about these issues, and was told if we had told him earlier he could have moved us: unfortunately, we didn’t realize how bad it was until we were ready for bed and certainly didn’t want to move at that point. This was the night before a surgical procedure, and all it did was add to my level of stress. Extremely disappointing for a Marriott Hotel.
