The staff was pleasant and the breakfast was good; however, the hotel needs to adopt far more environmentally responsible practices. Disposable plates, cutlery, and plastic cups are unacceptable in 2025—there are many sustainable alternatives available, and the hotel should be doing better.
What truly concerned me, though, was discovering drugs and drug paraphernalia in our room. This immediately raised serious questions about the quality of the cleaning and safety standards prior to our stay. We were fortunate not to have children with us.
I reported this to the front desk, and while the staff member was apologetic, offered member points, and assured me this was not typical, the follow-up call was troubling. After we had left, I was informed that “it was not drugs, but a vape.” I clarified that I was fully aware it was a vape—with cannabis (and potentially other substances) in it—which is, by definition, a drug. Only then did the staff member acknowledge this and apologize again.
