Everything in the Hotel was great, especially the band in the bar! Had breakfast in the dining room, service was good, but the food tasted like it was cooked in rancid oil. But overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Fun hotel— woodland day again
Beautiful hotel in the best location in Nevada City. However, if you stay during the winter, the rooms are drafty and cold due to Victorian windows. So just be prepared. Staff brought me a nice space heater for the bathroom. Closing the thick curtains also helps. Would stay again .. a little pricey for the size and season…the e o oh bad part about the hotel is the morning coffee— it’s super weak…

Lovely restored slice of history.
Had a great stay!
Customer service was exceptional as was the comfort of the room and bed.
The restaurant was delicious and so was the surprise of banana muffins in the morning.
Parking was a nightmare on a holiday Friday night and there were a few minor things overlooked by housekeeping but nothing too major to deter from the overall pleasurable experience.

Beautifully Restored Hotel
Beautifully restored hotel, its historical integrity preserved. On the main drag in Nevada City, convenient to all. Superb restaurant. Among the best fried chicken I've ever had. Tastefully decorated with period antiques. In place of a TV, an old radio which you can tune to local station. Plumbing is temperamental and bathroom cold (winter), but these are minor concerns.

Class and History Collide
National Exchange is gem in gold county. The rooms are amazing, the restaurant is fantastic, and the bar is legendary. The entire experience is worth the stay, I found myself constantly surprised by the quality of everything. The service, the coffee, everything is great. I believe this hotel will get a 4th star rating in the years to come.
