Fine hotel in a central location to Baltimore and Washington. Friendly service, but feels like it hasn't been updated in a few years. Nothing serious, but lots of smallish things, like: musty smelling room (until AC has had a chance to run - the AC did work well), room frig that didn't work at all, and a closet door that had a broken hinge (causing the door to hang open, waiting for you to run into it in the night - why wasn't this fixed before renting out the room?). And don't flush the toilet during the night - it sounds like a jet and will wake your significant other from a dead sleep. (Otherwise the hotel was pretty quiet despite being busy.)
Breakfast was below average for this level of hotel: pastries that would have been good given 20 seconds of warming in a microwave (but instead they were ice cold and hard as a rock, and there was no microwave in the dining area), scrambled eggs from powder, and bacon that just wasn't right. (Good sausage however!) And the hot water for tea tasted like stale coffee, which is unfortunately all too common these days, because coffee carafes get re-used for hot water.)
Overall, this is a very serviceable hotel, and I feel like a manager with a drive to get the small things right could make this a truly 5-star experience.
