I was met outside by two individuals whom I believed were guests, but very quickly learned were homeless jail birds - they were apparently proud of the fact that they had served hard time for "non-violent offenses". The problem is that there was no apparent security, just one member of staff who spent the night in an office, and I had more than $30K worth of photographic equipment in my vehicle that was impractical to bring into the room overnight. Thus I spent most of the evening worrying about whether I was going to have my vehicle broken into.
I agree that it is not necessarily the fault of the hotel, but with people like that right outside the door harassing guests, perhaps they should have involved the local police department or otherwise asked them to move on.
The beds were uncomfortable - I woke up in a lot of pain.
Also, I didn't see any breakfast setup other than a self service cereal cabinet, and a couple of tables and chairs right inside the entry door.
I have no complaints about the staff - they were as accommodating as they could be, but the hotel itself left a lot to be desired.
Also, when I booked my 1st night, the cost was $75 per night (I booked through Hotels.com), and when I booked my 2nd night which was for the following Tuesday, while I was of the impression that the nightly rate was the same, it had increased by $20 to $95+ per night.
I guess you get what you pay for. While I have no issue with the staff, it is unlikely that I'll stay there again.
