The hotel is a lovely big old fashioned building about a quarter of a mile from Harrogate's town centre.
It has ample free parking, and on entering the foyer, we were very impressed with its grandeur.
Check in was straight forward and the receptionist was very polite and helpful, as were the other members of staff we encountered.
There is a lift.
The room itself was of a fair size with everything you would expect i.e TV, tea and cofee making facilities, storage and toiletries etc.
However, the room was very tired with the wallpaper peeling in places, scuff marks on the walls and skirting boards and squeeky floorboards in our room and in the room above. As we appreciate, this is a very old building, but the rooms could definitely do with a make over.
The bed was really comfortable, so as we were only staying for one night, that was the most important thing.
Unfortunately we were awoken very early by other guests (squeeky floorboards) going about there business above us.
Didn't eat or drink here, so couldn't comment on that topic
Overall, we would stay here again, but would request a top floor room.
