I was not thoroughly impressed enough to return. Maybe it’s my age, my taste has changed, or I’ve simply experienced much better for the price. The price is about the only positive I can report besides the friendly lady at check in.
The bed wasn’t very comfortable although my husband said it was fine. The room stunk, mind you we had a pet friendly room- it smelled like they sprayed a bunch of air freshener right before we checked in, which indeed wore off. Who the heck puts carpet in a pet friendly room? Gross. The walls are paper thin you can hear a fruit fly fart from next door, not to mention the noisy busy interstate a quarter mile away.
The breakfast was so unappetizing we didn’t even eat it the 2nd day. No eggs available, I’m assuming because of the price. Your typical cheap carb-heavy options: waffles, cold cereal, yogurt, toast, etc.
If you need a cheap place close by just to sleep for a night, this would be perfect.
This is Des Moines, there are many options for lodging depending on your taste and preference. I might pay a little more for something a bit bougier or just consider a vrbo next time.
