Hotel Astoria is a nice, budget friendly hotel. It's not incredibly modern, but it has all the amenities I wanted and needed.
The hotel was clean and tidy, though the decor was a little tired and dated, it felt looked after and well presented. The hotel room was a good temperature, with warm duvets and windows that opened properly for airflow. Water pressure in the bathroom was great, and there was enough storage for me. The bed was comfortable, if a little bit too soft.
Breakfast was good, straightforward "continental" spread with meats and cheeses. Don't expect rows and rows of hot food, but there is plenty to eat. Staff are friendly and attentive. There is an expensive vending machine in the lobby if you are desperate but lots of shops in walking distance.
The location was great, minutes from the conference centre I needed to be at, close to train and bus stops and plenty of restaurants.
There are a lot of steps, and even if you use the lift there are still stairs to climb/descend, so this is not a hugely accessible properly.
