The shower leaked, the room's furniture and amenities were old and dilapidated, the WiFi didn't work, there was no housekeeping and I noticed that the toiletries were used and leftover from the previous guest. Furthermore, I've never known a hotel to charge extra for air conditioning. Luckily there was a back door on each side of the room to let a gentle breeze in.
The receptionist admitted that the room they'd given me was their worst, and to be fair, they did offer to upgrade me to a better room at no extra cost. Keen to just get settled after a long journey, I declined, but it turned out not to be a great stay, even for a budget hotel.
Can't fault the staff though. They were friendly and accommodating at all times. The location was decent enough as well, being situated on the main road served by the local transport, and with the beach, the old centre and plenty of shops located nearby. However, there are bound to be better accommodation options in the vicinity, and so unfortunately, I can't say I would stay here again.
