The hotel was pleasant overall, but it is clearly in need of some updating and renovation.
There is a nice pool area with a bar, which has the potential to be a great feature. However, the pool bar looked very rundown and was completely unstaffed and virtually empty. This meant that if we wanted food or drinks, we had to go down to the beach bar, which is run separately from the hotel.
On first appearance, our rooms seemed relatively clean, although a little dated. However, on closer inspection it became clear that they were in need of renovation. In my room, the bed was actually being supported by bricks and the mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable.
During my entire three-night stay, my room was not cleaned once. We received no fresh towels, replacement toilet rolls or fresh drinking water, which I would consider basic housekeeping services for any hotel.
Another issue was reception. It is advertised as being manned 24 hours a day, but this was not the case during our stay. Instead, there was a telephone number provided to contact if assistance was required.
On one occasion, I called and messaged this number because I needed help arranging a taxi. Unfortunately, I received no response for approximately three hours.
The hotel itself has a lot of potential, particularly because of its pool area and location, but it needs investment, better maintenance and, most importantly, a significant improvement in housekeeping and guest services
