My stay at Gran Hotel Son Net had both very positive and disappointing aspects.
First, the property itself is absolutely beautiful. The architecture, gardens, and overall atmosphere are stunning, tasteful, and full of character. It is truly a spectacular place.
However, for a 5-star hotel, I expected much more attention to detail and service quality.
I stayed in Suite 23 and, despite its historical charm, the strong moldy smell when entering the room was extremely unpleasant and not compatible with a luxury hotel experience.
I also had issues during check-in. I arrived at the official check-in time and still had to wait around two hours in the bar area before my room was ready.
Another disappointment was that no staff member ever offered to present the hotel, its facilities, or the history of the property. Considering how unique the place is, I expected a much more personalized and welcoming experience.
The restaurant was also below expectations. The menu was extremely limited, and the food itself was disappointing for a hotel of this level.
Finally, I requested a croissant through room service during the afternoon and was told it was only available at breakfast time. For a 5-star hotel, the lack of flexibility for such a simple request was frustrating.
Overall, a visually incredible property, but the service experience still falls short of true luxury standards.
