The front desk person was working on his car out front when I arrived. He followed me into the office when he saw me headed that way. He walked behind the counter and said gruffly, “You have ID?” As I checked in it was a very awkward interaction. Usually the front desk person greets you warmly and asks how you are doing. As few words as possible were spoken by him during check in. He said, “Sign here.” And “Here’s your key.” And that was about it for conversation. The room was sketchy, small and outdated. No sheer curtains, only room darkening curtains so if the curtains are closed for privacy, you have to have a light on. The lamp could hold 2 bulbs but there was only one bulb in it. The bathroom light fixture had spots for four bulbs, but there was only one bulb in it. The hotel is old and dated. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the sheets kept sliding off. There was a spot on the floor that was permanently, wet and another spot that was permanently sticky. If you need a cheap place to spend the night and have low expectations, you will be happy staying here.
Unfortunately the night I returned home, my credit card had 2 fraudulent charges for Onlyfans. I used the card only at the motel and at a restaurant. I worry that my credit card info was compromised at the hotel leading to the charges after I checked out. It could just be a coincidence but just wanted to state that I haven’t had the card for long and I hope it’s not connected to my hotel stay.
