Stayed for 5 nights in May 2024 and had a wonderful time. The property owners are very kind and helpful. Rooms are basic but very comfortable and clean, the shower was terrific. Very easy to walk everywhere from here and at night it is very quiet. Always felt very safe and welcome at the Hotel. I highly recommend Hotel Giglio for a positive Florence experience.

Friendly and helpful owners who explained exactly where and when to go see the sights. Only a 20min saunter into the centre of Florence with air conditioning and a yummy breakfast! Only thing to note is not suitable for those that struggle with stairs as on the second floor.

We were in Florence for 4 nights and stayed at the Hotel Giglio, based largely on the good feedback from previous guests. We were surprised and disappointed by the standard of the hotel. Very old feel, cramped breakfast room with poor/small selection. Also a bit strange to have the kitchen, reception and living room in the same room. Not impressed with the cleanliness either, a dead wasp was on the floor during our entire stay and we had to ask for shower supplies as they were not replenished. We will not be returning here. Approx. 15 minutes walk down to the Duomo. But, we had a great time in beautiful Florence.

Our hosts at this hotel made this three day stay wonderful! You couldn't ask for better. Whatever the request, question or need - they attempted to fulfill. If you are looking for modern, don't bother. If you are looking for historical, this is it! You get a great night's sleep in a quiet part of the city, (even though it is within walking distance of everything) you are fed well in the morning, and greeted with a smile and genuine interest in your day when you return. If we have a chance to return to Italy, this will be one of our stops.
