Once inside Artemisia Domus, the experience is wonderful. A small number of rooms surround a lovely garden, small reception and attractive breakfast area. Breakfast, which can be taken in the garden, was pleasant and more than adequate. The room was spacious and well appointed, including a queen bed, a desk space to work, more than adequate closet space and a large bath with an exceptionally grand jacuzzi tub. The downside is the far less than grand entrance to the hotel, which occupies part of the second floor of a commercial builing. It is not on the most attractive street in the Napoli harbor district. The entryway is dark, essentially a parking lot, and a tiny, aged elevator, not even large enough for two persons and their luggage, brings one to the second floor (the staff was exceptionally helpful with our luggage and many other things). Hotel reception is only present for half the day, so that when you arrive back to the hotel after dinner, one enters a dark building, on a not so great street, takes the rickety elevator and needs a key to enter the empty hotel lobby. (Less than 24 hour hotel staff seems now to be standard in smaller properties in Italy.) While we enjoyed our stay, one should not expect an attractive entrance and lobby area.
