I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. It is listed as a 'Guest House' but it is more like a 5 Star Hotel. It was a very late check-in but the staff were brilliant and most accommodating in getting my room arranged, even bringing up a small fruit platter to settle me in. The choices for breakfast were excellent and, again, the staff very polite and helpful. A shot walk away was the city centre with shops, restaurants, etc. I would certainly stay here again when visiting Guangzhou.

This vintage property has beautiful grounds, excellent gym and big swimming pool. The room is spacious. The location is great and very tranquil. The "hot tub" in the pool area is not a hot tub at all. It was just room temperature water, which is a disappointment. The property could improve by installing guest laundry facility. I was given two packs of laundry detergent free in my room, but there's no laundry facility to use these detergent. I was told the detergent was to be used for hand washing my clothes in my room. That does not make sense. There is the direct bus to Hong Kong and Kowloon, which is very convenient for travellers. The staff were helpful. Service was prompt and courteous.
