The entire resort ran out of ice on the day of arrival, which happened to be New Years. We had to walk out to the town and find a woman selling ice out of her home, bring it back to the resort and have the bartenders by the pool (who were AMAZING and the only staff that were helpful) keep it for us. The buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner was INEDIBLE, and I am not a picky eater. My bf called it 'war zone food', and we were TWICE locked into the mess hall with a key that someone walked off with, which was very much intentional, though the reasons are unclear to me still- staff would not respond or make eye contact when I remarked this was clearly a fire hazard. No clean utensils/dishes/cups available on every occasion we went to the mess hall. We ended up having to buy every meal out on the road, and staff refused to help facilitate calling restaurants to make reservations or even check if a place was open on NYE. Check in was a free-for-all nightmare where I got elbowed by two grown men in turn (I am female), who the desk staff then served first, though I had been at the counter first and they had already started my check-in process. Staff was oddly rude and dismissive, often ignoring you completely and avoiding eye contact when you asked a question. The beach itself is stunning, but there are a hundred other places to stay and this one needs to go out of business.
